L'umorismo è un linguaggio culturale

L'umorismo non viaggia come ti aspetteresti. Un eufemismo britannico che a Londra risulta pacato e secco, a New York suona evasivo. Il registro confessionale americano che riempie la TV a tarda notte sembra emotivamente eccessivo a Parigi. L'assurdismo impassibile di Le Gorafi fa davvero presa solo se hai assorbito abbastanza stampa francese da percepire il suo registro deriso.

Questa lista copre undici mercati — almeno due libri per ciascuno, tre per le culture di lettura più grandi (USA, Cina).
