Privacy Policy

Annoying-is-Caring ("AIC", "we", "us") is a service that helps a carer send personalised, gentle jokes to a cared-for person. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how you can access or delete it.

Who this applies to

This policy covers our mobile apps (iOS and Android) and our websites (annoying-is-caring.com and myjokes.ai). The app is rated 18+; by using it you confirm you are at least 18 years old.

Data we collect

• Account & contact data: the carer's and cared-for person's email addresses and display names, and subscription tier.
• Photos / face images: photos you choose to upload so we can personalise a joke's illustration for a specific person. These are optional and provided by you.
• Joke & interaction content: jokes generated or edited, feedback (liked/disliked), and reports you file.
• Payment data: subscriptions are processed by Stripe; we do not store your full card details.
• Technical data: app version, device type, and basic diagnostic/usage logs to keep the service running.

How we use your data

We use your data solely to operate and improve the service: to generate and deliver personalised jokes, to let a carer review jokes before delivery, to process subscriptions, to moderate content, and to respond to support and abuse reports. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Service providers we share with

We share the minimum data necessary with providers that operate the service on our behalf: Amazon Web Services (hosting/storage), Stripe (payments), and AI providers used to generate joke text, images, voice and video (e.g. OpenAI and Google). These providers process data under their own terms and only to deliver our service.

Content moderation

All uploaded images are automatically reviewed by AI for compliance with our content policy. We have zero tolerance for nudity, violence, hate speech, harassment, or any content involving minors in an inappropriate context. You can report content or block a user in the app; we review reports and act within 24 hours.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. Uploaded face images are stored securely and used only to personalise jokes for your cared-for person. When you delete your account (see below), we delete your personal data except where we must retain limited records to meet legal or accounting obligations.

Children

The service is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
