What's in the free trial?
30 days, no credit card. Available for Basic and Standard. The trial only activates after the cared-for opts in via the 6-digit pin emailed to them — if nobody opts in, no payment is charged.
Why are Premium and Group Premium billed immediately?
Both unlock video generation, full cartoon builder, voice cloning, and (for Group) team management — generation costs are non-trivial, so they go billed-immediately rather than free-trial. Cancel anytime; no penalty.
What's the difference between auto-scheduled, Crack-a-Joke now, and OTG jokes?
Auto-scheduled jokes fire on a cadence the system manages and land in the cared-for's inbox automatically.
Crack-a-Joke now is the carer-side custom joke flow, accessed from the carer dashboard or directly at joke.myjokes.ai. You write a short prompt (a memory, an inside joke, a specific situation), pick image or video, and AIC builds it on demand. Available on Standard, Premium, and Group Premium — not on the Basic tier.
Mobile OTG ("on-the-go") jokes are the ones you trigger from the mobile app — instant, personalised to a moment, often using a photo you just took. Available on every tier (with per-tier caps).
Can I switch plans later?
Yes — upgrade or downgrade from the carer dashboard. Pro-rated automatically; no support ticket needed.
What happens if I cancel?
Access continues through the end of the paid period, then auto-jokes stop and your dashboard goes read-only. Joke history is preserved — re-activate any time and pick up where you left off.
One subscription, multiple cared-for?
Group Premium covers up to 5. Otherwise it's one subscription per cared-for person — keeps personalisation tight (each cared-for has their own humour profile, voice, and photos).
Do you offer non-profit or care-organisation pricing?
Yes — get in touch via /contact and we'll work something out for non-profits, multigenerational families, and care organisations.
The subscription prices seem a bit high. Why is that?
The short answer is AI compute. Personalised image jokes — and especially video jokes — are what make AIC land emotionally: photorealistic faces, names, and situations the cared-for actually recognises. Reaching that level of realism requires the most capable image and video generation models on the market, and each call to those models has a real per-second GPU cost that we pay through to providers like Google, OpenAI, ElevenLabs, and a handful of specialised video labs.
AIC Labs is continuously benchmarking every new model and compute infrastructure provider as they ship, so we can deliver the best humour-per-dollar ratio over time. As model prices drop (and they do, regularly), we pass the savings through — either by raising the per-tier joke caps, by adding new media types, or by holding subscription prices flat while the underlying quality keeps going up.
